Almost Wordless Wednesday: Getting to the Heart of the Matter

I'm on Spring Break this week, which accounts for the sudden influx of posts! :o)

This enormous bleeding heart grades the Yuck Side of my house near the meters and air conditioners. This end of the bed is full of toad lilies, heuchera, blue ruellia humilis that haven't woken up yet, wood anemones, persicaria virginica (Painter's Palette) and a tiny lone red rhodie, whose branch rooted to the ground and decided it was happy. The rest of the rhodie died.

  1. Your bleeding heart is so beautiful, I don't think I have ever seen one that big. Have a wonderful rest of the week.

  10. Those Virginia bluebells at the top of your page are stunning! Here I have a few precious plants that don't seed or spread at all, still they are treasured.

  11. I don't think the side of your house can be called Yuck with such a gorgeous Bleeding Heart. They are rarely so happy here, thanks for the picture of a well grown and happy specimen of it.

  12. Glad you're enjoying your spring break! I'm enjoying your numerous blog posts ;) I agree with Masha, hard to call that Yuck with that beautiful bleeding heart. Now if I posted a picture of my a/c units and the non-existent landscaping there, we would all say YUCK!

  16. Ah, I really need one of those Japanese Bleeding Heart. Or a hundred. Those woods filled with Va. Bluebirds near your home must be amazing. We used to see lots of wild Bluebells when we lived in western PA.
