'At Last 'by Etta James isn't about spring but perhaps it could be...
At last
My love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song
Oh yeah yeah, at last
The skies above are blue
My heart is wrapped up in clover
The night I looked at you
And I found a dream I could speak to
A dream I could call my own
I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill that I have always known*
Oh yeah yeah and you smile, you smile
Oh, and then the spell was cast
And here we are in Heaven
For you are mine at last
Now that is just perfect! Yep! And your garden is looking absolutely alive and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe had a crazy heat wave that popped my garden to life. I actually had to water my pots!
DeleteI love it! Spring at last! Jeannine
ReplyDeleteIt felt like it was never going to arrive! Even the plants seem happy to be awake. :o)
DeleteOne of my very favorite songs :). Love how you associated it so perfectly with Spring :)
ReplyDeleteWhen seedlings start popping up, the song "Makin' Whoopie" always plays through my head. Either that or fuzzy images from the 60's of naked hippies. Of course, having been born in 1969, these aren't my own memories, unfortunately. :o)
DeleteLovely blooms. Always love seeing the Ferns unfold, they are such interesting plants.
ReplyDeleteCher Sunray Gardens
Ferns seem so ladylike to me. Maybe it's the delicate unfolding of their fronds.
DeleteWreszcie można wyjść z domu i być ze swoimi pięknym roślinami i pracować dla nich. Pozdrawiam.
ReplyDeleteFinally, you can go out and be with their beautiful plants and work for them. Yours.
It is such a joy to be in the garden! :o)
DeleteThe lyric is so beautiful and your spring really has started.
ReplyDeleteIt has started with a bang! Hooray! :o)
DeleteLove your lyrics! Your spring blooms are just beautiful. I espcially like the yellow flowers in the third picture from the end. They look like small Daffys, but the foliage is different. What are they?
ReplyDeleteThey're yellow epimediums, a low growing plant that loves dry shade. :o)
DeleteAnd now that beautiful song and your pretty photos are running through my mind and will be all day!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to get better than Etta! I tried to add music to this but a little thing called Copyright Infringement kept getting in the way.
DeleteSweet! ...and I don't mean sweet as in "gentle", I mean sweet as in the way kids say it today, meaning "super cool", but I didn't know how to type that so it showed.... maybe I should just have said "super cool"...but that just didn't sound right, know what I mean, LOL! Anyway, gives me hope for spring here! Cheers~
ReplyDeleteI knew what you meant! :o) An audio of Napoleon Dynamite popped into my head when I read your quote. Sweet ride!
DeleteVery nice. A great song that fits perfectly, for the love of spring.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is waking up beautifully.
I do like those epimediums. I just might have to have some.
Yes spring in a dream, dream that we love so much ! Beautiful pictures, have a nice spring week !
ReplyDeleteI love that song too! Spring time is worth the wait of those cold dreary days of winter. Your tulips are so beautiful. I have to grow them as annuals, so I don't always plant them unless they are reduced to 50% or more off. I enjoyed seeing all of your pretty flowers!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful pictorial accompaniment to Etta James! I'm glad that spring has finally found you.
ReplyDeleteTammy, lovely song! It goes well with your nice photos. I love daffodils, tulips: all they are vernal, long- awaited flowers. Today I saw small sprouts of tulips. My joy was so large!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you....spring is taking shape in your garden "At Last".
ReplyDeletePerfect song for gardens everywhere. I didn't think Spring would ever arrive!
ReplyDeleteLovely. You are at least a couple of weeks ahead of us here, so I am not quite ready to start singing along. That song always reminds me of the movie "Pleasantville".
ReplyDeleteHi Tammy, spring has certainly reached your garden! I thoroughly enjoyed looking at your lovely and atmospheric photos! Great light in the first image. Spring is a magical time in the garden, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteChristina
I see trees of green.....red roses too...I see em bloom for me and for you and I think to myself.... what a wonderful world. I felt just like you when I walked through my local parks here in South Carolina and saw the lovely trees in Bloom.
ReplyDeleteYour lovely garden has definitely welcomed spring. I share your joy!
Beautiful spring images. I love the sunlight through the tulips.
ReplyDeleteThanks for singing one of my favorite Etta songs, with beautiful images doing back-up; What beautiful music to celebrate spring. At last.
ReplyDeleteI could hear Etta James in my head as I was scrolling through. Everything is brown here. Hopefully your beautiful spring flowers are a sign that spring is heading this way.
ReplyDeleteI love the furry unfurling fern fronds!
ReplyDeleteStill only humming here (and for the past few days not even that) but I hope to breaking into song soon. Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree :-). I think we gardeners in the north-east are all feeling like that now :-).
ReplyDeleteI like your rendition of the song. Such gorgeous photos too. Don't you just love this time of year?
ReplyDeleteSinging along with you ... Etta.
ReplyDeleteOoooo, a stunner of a post for so many reasons! I'm just about to sign off for the night, and it's such a pleasure to end my blog visits with such a pleasant post. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteMaybe a silly question, but what are the pink flowers in the first photo?
ReplyDeleteSilene 'Rolly's Favorite' - a super tough little plant for a dry sunny spot. It's always my first bloomer. :o)
DeletePERFECT song for my mood too - at last!
ReplyDeleteI was singing along as I scrolled through your beautiful photos. I always love to see ferns unfurling.
ReplyDeleteHi Tammie, a lovely set of spring flower pictures, I liked the Epimedium, we don't see ours much because it's in deep shade and you have to know it's there. I'm not familiar with the song though (I probably have heard it, just not recognised the name) so I'm off to do a bit of research, then come back to the pictures for a sing-along.
