This huge seed catalog arrived a few days before Christmas and has been tempting me with giant, full color pictures of heirloom plants, many I've never heard of.
I want one of everything.
I thought these were cherries until I read that they're actually sweet tomatoes. I want them. Right. Now!
I've never read a Baker Creek catalog. My sister has and really likes it. I can see that you agree. I might have to get one. Spring can't come soon enough.
ReplyDeleteThat catalog has set you to planning and dreaming and garden catalogs have that effect on me too.
ReplyDeleteOh oh, I sense a financial crisis on the horizon.....freeze that credit card!
ReplyDeleteEven though you may want one of everything, only choose the best suited plants for your garden...I'm watching you.
I love this time of year - snuggled by the fire, browsing through catalogues and drooling over photos of plants. The very best kind of window shopping.... unless your credit card decides otherwise ;-)
ReplyDeleteA friend used to supply me with cherry tomatoes from the highlands - and they are really sweet. I can see wings sprouting on your credit cards :)
ReplyDeleteA zmieścisz wszystkie rośliny z katalogu w swoim ogródku . Pozdrawiam.
ReplyDeleteAnd you will put all the plants in your garden directory. Yours.
I also want one of each...my New Year resolution this year was not to buy anything for the garden until after 1st February...but I have already broken it - I bought a Callistemon on sale yesterday!! Plant catalouges and online garden sites are dangerous read, dangerous for credit cards...
ReplyDeleteThe mailman doesn't bring me any seedcatalogues for some reason. I think it's better so...;o)
ReplyDeleteI put all the seed and nursery catalogs that came in the mail away until after Christmas to avoid temptation until the holidays were under control.
ReplyDeleteAnd now . . . time to break out the stash and start looking / planning / ordering / making lists!
Oh, I love reading seedcatalagues at this time of year and I always order too many packets of seeds. My eyes are bigger than my garden!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of somethig Louis posted on Paralell 49 palms that, if memory serves, went something like this:
ReplyDeleteTo buy, or not to buy: that is the question:
Whether ‘tis nobler of the mind to suffer
the slings and arrows of plant lust,
Or to take credit card against this sea of temptations
And by succumbing own them?"
Looking into your future...
A drum, a drum! A large package dost come!
I think your Santa mailman isn't too old, looks like a gardener!
ReplyDeleteI love sweet tomatoes and will wait for yours to taste.
Have a nice day!
Ahhh, anticipation, in these times when your mind garden is perfectly planted, weedless and without pests. Enjoy while ye may, Tammy.
ReplyDeleteThat has got to be the prettiest darn seed catalogue I've ever laid eyes on. How could anyone resist?
ReplyDeleteI just received the same catalog, and am equally excited! Usually I kind of put the catalogs aside until after New Year's Day, but for some reason I'm ready to start dreaming early this year! Cheers! Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteI am groaning under the weight of the things with an order list as long as my arm and no idea where on earth any of them will go. Still, that's the fun of it.. Where is the fun in planning things too precisely anyway?
ReplyDeleteSeed catalogs are full of dreams!
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are Bountiful Gardens, Southern Exposure and Seed Savers!! :)
Oh, time to order seeds! I always get so confused - there's so much I want! I hope you get those little tomato seeds for your garden!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some and grow some yummy tomatoes next year. I love plant catalogs too but try not to order too much :)
ReplyDeletePlant catalogs!! ... The 'birth' of "Wishlist 2013" ... (Yay!!) :D
ReplyDeleteI love this catalog also! I've ordered from it more than once. Last year it was (red) Chinese Noodle Beans... Wonder what I'll order this year! :)
ReplyDeleteThis the season of garden catalogs! I don't have that one, but the oversight will be quickly remedied.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I haven't heard of that company before. Looks very interesting!
ReplyDeleteThe best Christmas gift! Now you can dream away the winter flipping through your catalogue and planning for the spring :)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a happy Christmas and best wishes for 2013!
ReplyDeleteFresh tomatoes would be heaven right now. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteI have actually cried when reading a garden catalog, the whirl of emotions was just too much.
ReplyDeleteSeed catalogs are full of dreams aren't they? Enjoy!
