Almost Wordless Wednesday: Clematis on a Blustery Day

A pink mystery clematis grows around a metal watering can bird house under the shade of a Prague viburnum.

  1. That is really lovely. In fact the combo is also. So glad I saw this. I have two under a Viburnum to grow on it and I'm glad I have them there now. Hoping they do some good climbing this year.

    1. I don't think so but I'm hoping birds will move in! The viburnum is full of birds year round because it's evergreen. When it's cool they like to hang out by the dryer vent that blows warm air onto the branches. Maybe if I added a little heater to the birdhouse, I'd have occupants. :o)

  6. I love the pink clematis! I have seen a couple in Bluestone perennial that I have had my eye on for some time. I may get it at there 50% off sale. I think a pink like that climbing into my white 'Lamarque' rise would be really pretty as does yours next to the white viburnum!

  11. So beautiful. Love the contrast between the light green of the clematis and dark green of the viburnum.

  12. Very nice! And the sweet touch of the watering can hanging on the gate rounds out the lovely scene! My Clematis are struggling during the past few years. I think I need to fertilize them. Any suggestions?

  13. My Clemmies don't even have buds and yours are blooming? How wonderful. I love that clear pink. Could it be 'Pink Champagne'?

  14. If I only had acres and acres and acres on which to plant flowers - I would definitely include these!

  15. Lovely! For our landscaping in my Michigan summer home, I have picked out several of these for planting! They don't grow in Texas and I love them!!

  16. I love the whimsy of the bird house! Too sweet. I wish we could grow these in TX. Seems Pam at Digging has a variety that grows...I need to get the name from her. They are just so pretty. It seems I've heard shade the roots, sun for the vine?
