Scout
I'm thankful for the opportunity to share my garden with my dog Scout. He is blind, diabetic and has thyroid disease and skin problems. He and his mom came to me about 18 months ago as the most undoglike dogs I had ever known. He had the personality of a filing cabinet and his mom Genie was an anxious, neurotic mess. My other three dogs immediately welcomed them into the pack and he's become my constant companion. He and Genie have become happy, silly, confident dogs who help harass the local squirrels and love to follow me around the garden.

Oh my gosh, Tammy, Scout is the sweetest little doggie ever! There is so much love in his eyes. You're lucky, but he is even more lucky to have found your welcoming clan! Awww, give him a hug for me, please!
ReplyDeleteawww...how sweet! he looks like a great little dog.
ReplyDeleteJesteś cudowny, bo ten piesek dzięki Tobie ma dom i miłość. Pozdrawiam
ReplyDeleteOh they are adorable! Were these fosters? Scout has a very sweet face, I don't think I could have given them back. Sounds like you're a good pack leader, to have three well-adjusted dogs who can welcome two newbies into the group. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious little face Scout has :-) How wonderful of you to give them both a happy home.
ReplyDeleteWords can hardly describe how adorable these two are! They are so lucky to have found a home with you! I just love reading such success stories. Give them both a big pat from me!
ReplyDeleteOh, I wanted to hug them when I saw the photos! Makes me want a dog even more. How sweet! And companions in the garden--how fun!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful dogs Tammy! Scout looks so soft and cuddly. I would want to take them home too and spoil them rotten. Good for you and your other dogs for bringing them out of their shell! That is so neat!
ReplyDeleteBoth of them seem very adorable to me. They don't look sick at all. You must have given them lots of TLC. Sending some over...TLC...
ReplyDeleteThey have the perfect home to make them well and feel loved. All the problems seems to disappear.
ReplyDeleteThere is *nothing* like the unconditional love we receive from our four-legged family members. Your pups are adorable and so very lucky to have landed in your pack!
ReplyDeleteCute puppy portraits.
ReplyDeleteTammy, I think your dogs if they could talk would likely tell you how thankful they are that you took them in. We've had several shelter cats over the years and it's amazing how they seem to recognize the help you give them.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Marguerite, I think it is Scout and Genie who are thankful, and most grateful to share the garden with you! It takes a special person to share their home with a visually challenged dog, and as one who has been owned by a diabetic cat for the last 12 years (he's now 23!), I know that managing diabetes is no easy task either! Scout and Genie are both adorable, and lucky to have you.
ReplyDeleteAh, Tammy, no wonder you're such an outstanding gardener. You have the heart of a nurturer. Scout is adorable. Our dog, Oscar, is definitely on the neurotic side of the street....he's our little emotional mess. : )
