A Little Sunday on a Tuesday

Sometimes you just have to start over. Monday was rotten, so I threw it away and started my week on Tuesday.  And then decided, that since I was starting my week anew, why not just change Tuesday to a Sunday? I ignored my briefcase bursting with papers to be graded, ate coconut sorbet slathered in hot fudge for dinner, and went out to garden. Into my new red clogs my long feet slid, keeping me warm as I rearranged pots, took silly pictures, and planted two pots of beets, sowing the seeds in the shape of a smiley face. I haven't met Wednesday yet, but I know it will be just fine.

I think I see a smaller watering can in the distance!!

I am utterly disgusted that you bought a watering can taller than I am!

Huh? What's a watering can? Do they taste like chicken?

Geez Louise! I look like a gnome!!

Ahhh, now that's more like it! (Just not in the garden!)

  1. You are always funny, but this post was hilarious!! Those doggie captions- I laughed out loud.
Did I ever tell you that I have always wanted a long haired dachshund and plan to call him "Jimmy Dean", "Jimmy" for short.
Coconut sorbet with hot fudge? I find it hard to imagine that combination of flavors mixing together, but I bet it is a great stress reliever.
If only we really could throw all those rotten days out and start over!!

  2. Hooray for making the day what you want and taking silly pictures. Since I retired I have trouble keeping track of what day it is, but I have to say it's more disorienting than liberating. Coconut sorbet with chocolate sounds just like a Mounds candybar, and that's all good.

  3. Jen - A dog named Jimmy Dean? Love it!! Coconut sorbet with hot fudge is just like a Mounds candy bar. So yummy!! Best dinner ever!

Laurrie - I lose track of my days during the summer. It's wonderful! :o)

  5. I have a couple dogs who only think about chicken! I used to live near Canada...northern NY near the St Lawrence River. I also have a cherry tree that is getting ready to bloom. I think it is the same! Can't wait!!!

  6. I love your blog! You are a wonderful writer. Very expressive! And I am so happy to get to meet the dogs. But it must be really embarassing to be shorter than Mom's watering can!

  7. So cute, I was really smiling. Your pup's expressions went so well with the captions. And you did look like a gnome at feet level. I really, really liked your post.

  8. You are always funny but these captions are the best. Your dachshund does seem to appear insulted. LOL! Coincidentally I posted on Captions Wanted a while ago. Do help me out. :)

If you can throw away Monday and skip on to Sunday, I wonder what day it is today...

  11. So glad that you started the week over because this post was a hoot! And, a big bowl of ice cream for dinner is a cure all for a bad day and then to top it off with a little gardening...pure heaven! Your dogs are so adorable and it is so funny to read about life through the eyes of your dogs!

  14. I'm sooo jealous that you can wear clogs and see your feet. My feet are in boots and the boots are standing in snow. *sob* I don't want to just start my week over, I want to re-wind March! Cute pics of the pups. :-D

  15. Ahh, your dogs are adorable, and so expressive. I think you knew exactly what they were thinking about that watering can;-) We have a miniature dachshund and everything is taller than she is! Especially our standard poodle;-) What do you think about this dreadful weather we've been having as of late? For a while there, I was sure spring weather was here but now it just seems so 'winterish'! In the 30's right now as I write this and oh so chilly outside. I am sure the warmth will return but today was just plain yucky, without the sun!

  16. Hahaha, really laughed at these! I love also the fuschia shoes, maybe the dogs think you are weird, look at their faces, they seem to be thinking a lot. But they are so healthy and look so adorable. The cherry photo on top is very beautiful, you should see another version of the cherry blossoms, it is in my penultimate post. thanks.

  17. I Love your philosophy...just throw a lousy day away, start over and head to the garden! Sounds like a great way to live life :) Your puppies are so sweet and I love your clogs! A girl can never go wrong with red shoes.

  18. You have pretty shoes! And I like your red watering cans, no matter the size. As for starting the week over, on a new day, I think that is a great philosophy; it sounds like what gnomes would do!

  19. I love the idea of redefining the week almost as much as I love your clogs. I really must get myself some, I currently use some that have holes in the top ("Crocs") which means I am constantly watering my feet :-(

  20. Whoa! you really love red! BIG red watering can, red garden shoes...pretty red office shoes, love those!

  21. PS I just got some cool garden shoes from GardenShoesOnline...they have the neatest varieties of rain boots and garden clogs, etc;-) I like your red ones. We should get together some time later this spring or summer...we must not live very far away at all! I am going to visit Carolyn's Shade Gardens in PA during my son's spring break. 22. Hello dear,

Thanks for stopping by and it was so adorable of you to say you wish you could've teleported to my talk yesterday.

Please, (since we both love nature so much) come visit my new posting, which shows my mama hummingbird's nest, eggs, etc. It is the joy of my garden right now.

    Happy Sunday,
